LA Explodes in Celebration as Los Angeles Dodgers Claim Back-to-Back World Series Victory
The City of Angels witnessed widespread celebrations after the Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Fans across the globe united with local residents in celebration, marking the first time in 25 years that a team has achieved back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Enormous Turnout
Los Angeles area events included a downtown parade on Monday morning, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Social media videos show countless of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.
“I’m already thinking about the next championship we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the team walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.

Festivities started prior to the parade, with Dodgers fans setting off flares in the roads of the city center on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, awarded the MVP of the championship, spoke directly about the victory.

Mixed Reactions and City Unity
However, Mark Walter was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Recordings from the event appear to show Walter taking the stage to a mix of cheers and jeers, with negative shouts punctuating his address.
The World Series served as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s truly amazing to be a involved in this.”
