Iran Reports Assault on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.

Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is unclear and the United States has yet to issue a statement.

Missile Defenses Activated

In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Additional Developments

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," it added.

It said wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
