Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former physician stands accused of performing assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

One senior CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

Prosecutors said the 45 charges include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempted penetrative assault.

Police have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the relevant police force.
