Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.

American performer Pat Finn, who appeared in beloved television series including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer famous for delegating burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, including:

• "King of Queens"
• Friends
• "That '70s Show"
• "House"

His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Beyond his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, peer Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.

Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
